Our ladies have been getting after it! Check out what our Volcom girls are up to and what is coming down the line...
Volcom snow team rider Elena Hight found herself on the podium at the first stop of the winter Dew Tour in Breckenridge, Colorado. This week was the 3rd and final stop of the Dew Tour at Northstar in Tahoe. Elena finished with a 3rd overall in the 3-stop series!
After a solid couple of months charging Pipeline on the North shore Claire Bevilacqua headed back to her home in Western Australia with somewhat of a new found confidence. She was eager to head into summer back in the land down under! "It has just been unreal, one of the best summers (in Australia) of weather and waves almost ever. I just couldn't leave home! I have been making the most of my time by surfing daily and training at a level I feel I've never reached before. I wont be home for much of the rest of the year so I'm enjoying catching up on family time and business." Claire is now spending a week in Tavarua with fellow Volcom skater Lynz Adams-Hawkins and putting her Volcom Miss Mod Swimwear to the test!
Janna Meyen just found herself on the podium at the final stop of the Dew Tour this past weekend. She placed 3rd in the Slopestyle event, which was her first contest of the season after returning from healing up a knee injury. Janna is back at it… she is now on a plane to Japan for the upcoming Nippon Open. Good Luck Janna!
After finding out in December that Coco Ho qualified for the 2009 World Championship Tour she has been busy back home on the North Shore of Hawaii training and preparing for the year ahead. Coco has her boardies packed, her swimsuits ready and is heading to the Gold Coast of Australia for the first WCT event of the year. Go Coco!!
Fellow snow team rider Cheryl Maas spent the first part of the winter season competing non-stop. Unfortunately in late January at the Winter X Games she took a pretty bad spill. This has resulted in her now nursing a few broken limbs back home in France. Nothing can keep this girl from Snowboarding…. She'll be back at it again in the next few weeks at the Mammoth Chicken Jam.
Lyn-z Adam Hawkins put the skateboard away for a few weeks and heading for the mountains. She has spent her time between Mammoth, Aspen and Utah taking some time off before the summer skate craziness begins. From the word on the street, Lyn-z is quickly becoming a contender not only on the concrete but also on the hill! She'll also be competing at the Mammoth Chicken Jam in March.
